Academic credentials:
- Engineering degree in order of preference- Mechanical / Civil / Electrical / Electronics
- MBA with marketing and project economics preferably with port and shipping management ( post graduate diplomas from recognized institutions)
- Candidate should possess minimum 3 - 5 years port background in non - Major ports (private, captive or commercial ports such as Mundra, Pipavav, Gangavaram, Krishnapattnam , Ennore , Reliance port facility at Jamnagar, Essar port facility at Dahej and Birla port facility at Dahej).
- Should be able to prepare port business plan for future
- Should possess port traffic forecast skills ( bulk cargoes , liquid and dry cargoes, containers and chemicals, etc)
- Should have knowledge of global trend in changes of ship size, ship type and on board technology for cargo handling.
- Should possess knowledge of primary hinterland industrial development and secondary hinterland expansion of industries and trade served by the port.
- Should have knowledge of road and railway connectivity and logistic solutions related to them, along with supply chain management that can be created.
- Should possess knowledge of international and national rules and regulations set forth by important organizations of IMO, IAPH, PIANC, IALA, etc.
